The SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks are back at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course after taking 2020 off due to COVID-19. On Tuesday, the track revealed the schedule for the NASCAR Xfinity SeriesB&L Transport 170 weekend on 4/5 June, with the trucks expected to run two rounds.

SST began racing at the Lexington circuit in 2019, holding four races across two weekends in the summer alongside the NTT IndyCar Series and Xfinity Series. Cole Potts and Gavin Harlien won in the first weekend while Robby Gordon and Matt Brabham triumphed the next.

The trucks were supposed to return to Mid-Ohio to support IndyCar in 2020 prior to the pandemic forcing its postponement. Although IndyCar eventually rescheduled to September, SST did not follow suit. Latching on with the Xfinity Series was also out of the question as its 2020 date was cancelled.

The weekend, which also includes undercard events by the ARCA Menards Series and Yokohama Drivers Cup USA, begins for SST with practice and qualifying on Friday, 3 June. Race #1 will take place later that day at 4:45 PM Eastern before ARCA’s Dawn 150. The second race on Saturday at 11:40 AM is sandwiched between the YDC and Xfinity Series.

While no announcement has been made, SST is also expected to join Mid-Ohio’s IndyCar weekend in July. SST traditionally supports IndyCar, as done with the 2021 season opener at St. Petersburg in April, while the series has run alongside NASCAR on occasion in the past as was the case at Road America from 2018 to 2020 and Texas Motor Speedway in 2019.
