Rick Pearson completed a sweep of the two Fujifilm Touring Car Trophy races at Silverstone Classic powered by the AA, beating star driver Frank Wrathall into the first corner before pulling away from the British Touring Car regular.
After benefitting from Michael Lyons’ misfortune in the opening Grand Prix Masters race of 2012 Silverstone Classic powered by the AA, Bill Coombs completed a perfect weekend resisting race long pressure from Steve Hartley to clinch The Daily Express International Trophy.
Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher dominated the Celebrity Challenge event at Silverstone Classic powered the AA, converting his pole position easily into a race win in an event raising money for Birmingham Childrens’ Hospital, the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK and the RPJ Chron’s Foundation.
In his fantastic Sauber Mercedes C9 Gareth Evans survived a clash with a back marker to win the twilight Group C sportscars race at Silverstone Classic powered by the AA.
Rick Pearson dedicated his victory in the first Fujifilm Classic Touring Car Trophy race to David Leslie as he won in the RML Nissan Primera driven by the Scotsman in the 1999 British Touring Car Championship.
Bill Coombs stole the victory in the Daily Express International Trophy for Grand Prix Masters race of the 2012 Silverstone Classic weekend, taking the win when long time leader Michael Lyons stopped on the Wellington Straight.
Silverstone Classic powered by the AA is the world’s largest racing festival, taking over the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit for three days. As well as the 7,000 cars from car clubs on static display on the infield, to the interactive motoring attractions on offer at AA World on the Stowe Circuit and the race cars waiting their turn on track there is the racing on offer throughout the three days.
